Sumptuary at the ACP

Carla Efstratiou | 2 November 2010

Imagine being royalty for a day.  No longer just a fragment of our collective imagination, everyone in Sydney now has the opportunity to bask in the decadent lifestyle of the rich and famous with the newest ACP exhibition Sumptuary.

Garth Knight, Deborah Paauwe, Farrell & Parkin, Alexia Sinclair and Robyn Stacey’s works combine to create an exhibition that sheds light on consumption through the ages. Using a range of mixed media, the exhibition marries the intimacy of photography with the real life experience of found objects to make a social comment on the excess of our past and present.

Sumptuary runs 26 November – 23 December and 8–29 January at the Australian Centre for Photography, 257 Oxford Street Paddington NSW 2021. Open Tuesday To Friday 12.00pm To 7.00pm; Saturday and Sunday 10.00am To 6.00pm.
