Boy & Bear’s Tim Hart’s Solo Work

By Yen | 4 September 2012

Tim Hart, Boy & Bear’s drummer, backing vocalist and sometimes-banjoist, has found time between touring and recording to make the solo album he’s been dreaming of.

In five words, how would you describe Milling the Wind?
A journey through my soul.

When do you find time to write a record in between touring and recording with Boy & Bear?
We get a lot of down time on the road, it’s just a matter of taking the opportunities to write when they present themselves.

What’s the idea behind the film clip for Number of Us?
The idea is to show that life is a series of outcomes governed by the choices and situations in which we find ourselves. In many ways this can be traced back to our childhood dreams and desires, I believe its something to take note of.

Which do you prefer – guitar or drums and why?
Tough question to answer. I like them both in the same way I like Thai food and Indian food. Both most enjoyable but nice to be able to have a bit of variety

You’re about to hit the touring trail at the end of August – what do you love and hate about touring?
I hate been away from my friends, early starts and long waits at airports, and that Amsterdam airport has no shower in the lounge. Everything else I love: the travel, the different cultures and people and most of all getting to play shows!

Milling the Wind was released 17 August with the first single, A Number of Us.
