We look back on some of the greatest album cover babies and see where they’ve ended up.
Ready To Die- The Notorious B.I.G
Rumours surrounding the identity of this big-haired baby have been rife in the music industry for years. Claims that it is B.I.G himself or one of P Diddy’s children might be laid to rest amid recent reports that the child is actually 18-year old Keithroy Yearwood. The high-school senior says he was paid $150 dollars for the 2-hour photo shoot and that his favourite B.I.G songs are “Juicy” and “Big Poppa.” Word.
Violent Femmes- Violent Femmes
Billy Jo Campbell graced the cover of the Violent Femmes self-titled debut in 1982, at the age of 3. She was paid $100 for the cover, and now works with her mother in Los Angeles running a clothing store.
“I remember looking into that building, and they kept telling me there were animals in there…I had no idea there were photographers there.”
Justine Ferrara didn’t think it was a big deal when she shot Korn’s inaugural studio cover in 1994. She was six at the time and admits that millions of people seeing her picture is something she’ll ‘never get used to.’ She recently graduated from NYU with plans to work in publicity.
Spencer Elden knows what it feels like for 9 million people to see you naked. Perhaps the most famous album baby, he was paid just $200 to dive onto Nirvana’s 1999 breakthrough cover. Now 21, he has aspirations of working as an artist.
“I feel like I’m the world’s biggest porn star.”
