Fast Five with Laura Marling

Anne Fullerton | 22 July 2010

We asked our issue 45 cover girl, the lovely Laura Marling, to tell us what she’s been up to in under a minute.

Are you looking forward to coming back for Splendour in the Grass and your tour?

Yes very much. I do love touring Australia. I had so much fun at Splendour two years ago. It’s a great festival, I’m looking forward to it.

What do you miss when you’re away on tour?

I just miss England a lot. I feel so English when I’m away on tour. When I’m at home in London walking down to the shops, even though that’s quite a boring thing I miss that kind of routine. You just miss home really.

What was the last film you saw?

The last film I saw was ages ago. The last one I saw in the cinema was The Road. So depressing. It was brutal.

What was the last book you read?

The last book I read was Tortilla Flat by [John] Steinbeck. It was good.

If you had to pick someone to play your dream gig with who would it be?

Probably… I dunno, it’s too hard! I guess probably Bonnie Prince Billie.

Pick up a copy of Yen issue 45 for the full interview. Laura Marling will be playing at Splendour in the Grass and touring throughout July and August, 2010. Head to the website for details.
