Dominique Merven

By Elise Pitt | 9 February 2012

This talented lady fills her hand-drawn works with incredible hyper-realistic detail.

The self taught Sydney-based illustrator uses graphite and watercolours to create pretty portraits with a surrealist edge that are inspired by the beauty of nature and exotic places.

Lately, she’s been sketching ethereal graphite scenes of saint-like figures covered with flowers and surrounded by eagles, and oriental princesses dripping with jewels.

It seems creativity runs in the family. Her brother, Ben, is a muso and also took the below snap of Dominique doing her thing.

Dominique captures her bro doing his thing.

Check out her website or blog for your more visual delights.
