Katie Ring

Annie | 3 February 2011

Katie Ring rips, tears and crumples everything from discarded newspapers to postal stamps to create her lovely collages. The kicker? She’s 17. “Whenever I see a discarded envelope on the ground or an abandoned newspaper at the train station I pocket it,” she says. I love the spontaneity of watercolours and inks and I like the way a felt tip pen can produce something complex and intricate. I’d like to think that my works stir the imaginations of my viewers so they too can feel something personal about my artwork.”
