A passion for pop art and a childhood spent in Jamaica informs the work of Robin Clare. Using “paint, paper, canvas, ink and pretty much whatever else I can get my hands on,” she works as an artist and illustrator, most recently creating work for Italian fashion and culture mag Max. “I recently relocated to Sydney in July 2010 from London. I studied art at the University of Arts London and graduated with a BA in Painting, since then I have worked as an artist and illustrator and exhibited my work in the UK, Europe and the North America. I’m very much inspired by pop art and love using bright colours and pattern, which is probably a result of my childhood spent in Jamaica.” Anyone who can bring News of The World style headlines into fine art deserves kudos.
