Ghosts of Bohemian Sydney

By Alex English | 2 October 2012 | 1 Comment

Unfortunately, we weren’t around for the bohemian madness of Hotel Australia in the early 1900s, but that just means that we get to see the ghosts instead – which is way creepier and cooler.

‘Last Drinks: One more round at the Hotel Australia’ is an installation project for Art and About Sydney. The ghosts of bohemian Sydney are going to be woken up (hopefully they’re not going to be too annoyed and we can avoid a Dr Harvey type incident). So prepare yourself for some hauntings around the hotel’s old location (now the MLC Centre on the corner of Castlereagh St and Martin Place) to celebrate the life of Sydney.

The installation runs from 21 September until 21 October from 6pm to 11:30pm.

  1. Well, I think getting to see only the ghosts of the Bohemian Sydney is more than enough, considering the fact that we did not get the chance to view the actual scene. I agree that it is creepier and definitely cooler that way. Art and About Sydney has always been a very enchanting program, even for the non arts enthusiasts. The events are usually very exciting and suitable for all.
