Kris Tate, Illustrator at Large

Kris Tate has her finger in every single pie when it comes to illustration. There is not one that has been left un-Tated. She’s a freelance illustrator who was born in Guatemala but relocated to London several years ago. Guatemala is not in her past however, it thrives in her designs, which are rich of hue, exciting of pattern, and turning us totally bankrupt.

What fuels the inspiration fire? Pictures of her life, portraits, feelings, emotions and history in the places she has lived.¬†She is also a huge animal lover (hence the dogkerchiefs, available here), and cites them as a constant source of creativity – fawns, cats, wolves, bears, foxes, tigers are all members the Kris Tate club. “I watch loads of animals documentaries. I’m very passionate about watching¬†David Attenborough¬†because I learn a lot from him. I am also inspired by my native Guatemalan culture,” says Tate.¬†Her work has been stocked by Urban Outfitters, Wall Art Gallery, Modernaked, Blood is the New Black, East End Prints, Ohh Deer, Society 6, Deny Designs and many more.

Here are a few prime picks from Kris Tate’s extremely large selection of designs, from notebooks and watches to shower curtains and wooden trays¬† – you name it*, Tate is producing it.

*Superhero day-wear capes are currently not stocked anywhere, but we have put it in the suggestion box.
