Let It Bleed: The Rolling Stones 1969 US Tour

Anne Fullerton | 9 August 2010

Get in early, because an exhibition this good is destined to flicker brightly and fade, like many ill-fated rock visionaries themselves. Blender Gallery are hosting an 80 piece collection of Ethan Russell’s iconic photography. The only man to have snapped album covers for The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Beatles, this exhibition offers an intimate behind the scenes look at the Stones’ 1969 tour, including some of the last photographs taken of Brian Jones before his death. It also features pics of contemporaries such as Chuck Berry, BB King and John Lennon, and the doomed Altamont Speedway concert, generally believed to have ushered in the end of the ‘60s.

Let It Bleed will be on display at Blender Gallery, Paddington NSW from August 27 – 5 October, 2010.
