We’ve seen musicians bring out fashion, jewellery and fragrance lines but we think Mike D of the Beastie Boys might just be the first to design his own wallpaper. Inspired by French Country Toile, he decided he wanted a Brooklyn version for his house and approached Vincent J Ficarra and Adela Qersaqi to help. From a distance it looks traditional, but on closer inspection the pattern reveals elements that represent the “truth about Brooklyn.” There’s graffiti on trains, Coney Island and even the Notorious B.I.G makes an appearance. You can order it in any size you want in vinyl or terralon, but if you’re not ready for the commitment of wallpaper, you can order a sample and use it as a poster. Discover the real Brooklyn here.
