An Introduction To The Wild And Wooly World Of Taxidermy
Taxidermy. No, it’s not a cab that shuttles you to and from your dermatologist, and it’s not a sport where tax accountants duel on horseback. Taxidermy is a general word for the many methods used to create lifelike, three-dimensional animal mannequins. Some of these critters are created wholly from artificial materials, whilst others are made from (be still my vegan heart) - dead animal flesh. Who, where, how, and why would anyone do this? Well that’s what I’m here to tell you. Strange as it sounds, the practice has held a unique place in society for centuries. And far from dying out, currently, the field is flourishing. Dead right, mate.
There are more taxidermy puns to be found in the latest issue of YEN Magazine, so get to it!
