To tie in with the release of Aussie flick Candy, YEN photographed leading lady of late, Abbie Cornish. She’s the most laid back chick you could meet. Not fussy or pretentious in any way. If she’s to be labelled anything, it’s talented, intelligent and cheeky. One of YEN’s resident photographers, Harold David got on like a house on fire with her. There are big things ahead for Abbie, who already has movies in the pipeline starring opposite the likes of Cate Blanchett and Russel Crowe.

This issue also encapsulated the standard of journalistic skills the YEN contributor network possesses. From stories on why HIV/Aids is still around and on the rise in 2006, the story behind how homeless shelter dogs are used in prisons to rehabilitate inmates to the expose on the sex trafficking trade going on in Australia.
