While issue # 25 wasn’t meant to be the ‘icon issue’, it kinda turned out that way. The interviews flooded in from our writer’s and we had an issue full of uber talented people. One of our fave interviews was by Axel Moline, who spoke to Terry Richardson over the phone from the US. Terry explained his style of photography and why and how he got into the fashion industry. However a tad younger, indie actress, Camille Belle revealed how she cracked into the movie industry and how much she loves acting on the big screen. In this issue we also featured a long line of talented gals including Patience of The Grates, Kathleen Hanna of Le Tigre, Sarah Blasko and Natasha Khan of Bat For Lashes.

Around the time this issue came out, one of the biggest projects undertaken by the publishers of YEN was launched – the Young Woman of the Year Awards. While it was a tough decision for the judges to make, there had to be a winner. The overall award was given to Torah Bright an Australian snowboarder. Torah is one of the most inspirational young people YEN has come across. While she was only 19 when she won this award her speech on the night of the awards could have inspired the young and the old to get off their butt and reach for the stars.
