It’s time to effect the evolution of the fostering of women, who come from all over Australia and who are involved in a manner of different working fields. The Young Woman of the Year Awards is doing this by allowing women who are outstanding in their industry to be awarded for their achievements. Your nominations have been collated and an outstanding panel of judges have chosen three finalists from each of the nine categories.
The judges included the likes of Libby Clark, director of operations of In the Mix, Australia’s most successful music website; Maya Jupiter, a super talented hip hop artist, radio DJ and TV host; Barbara Messer editor of Australian Creative magazine, Holly Byrnes fashion editor for the Daily Telegraph and Liane Rossler founder and designer Dinosaur Designs. The judges poured over the nominations finding the selection process much harder than they thought it was going to be:
“A lot of the design studios are still managed by men, so it’s great that younger female designers are being recognised for taking control of their own destinies. Many of the finalists have established reputations not only in Australia but overseas as well.” – Barbara Messer
“I made my decision based on the criteria and information provided, and also the general knowledge I have of these amazing women. I just want to say I wish they could all get an award.” – Maya Jupiter
