Brighter than ever, the YEN team released the fourth edition of CURVY in 2007. In honour of this, Issue 26 was dedicated to everything bright and arty. The obvious cover girl choice was Chloe Sevingy, not only one of the best indie actresses around town but has a strong connection to the art world in America. She was often seen hanging about the Alleged Gallery (NY city) in the early to mid ‘90s with other artists like Terry Richardson, Ed Templeton and Jason Lee. Chloe, who is also a friend of many talented skaters, inspired our six-page pictorial on the best skater boys of today. Calls were made at all times of the day and night to catch these boys when they weren’t skating the streets around the world.

We were also really excited to collaborate with five creatives on YEN’s first photographic art project ’50 thing in colour’. We sent out Lomo Holga cameras to Emily Barclay (actress), Midnight Juggernauts (musicians), Annie Wright-Zawada (fashion designer), Miss AB (photographer) and Ben Politt (Fashion designer) to capture images of all things that inspire them in a particular colour. While the colour scheme didn’t quite work, we we’re highly entertained and pleased with the images and comments that hit our inbox. Talking about creatives, we thought it was apt to discover what it’s like to create with your lover. We chatted to four couples from the US and Oz, who all tell how amazing it is to collaborate on this level.
