Inspiration can be an elusive creature. we asked five creative souls to turn to the world around them with a Lomo Holga camera in one hand and a colour swatch in the other to photograph what inspires them:
EMILY BARCLAY (actress)
Nominated for an AFI award for her role in Suburban Mayhem and the tele-movie The Silence in 2006, Emily Barclay loves hanging out with her friends. “My friends and I once
found an abandoned bed base and went for rides down my street on it,” says Barclay. Inspired by films, books and music, Barclay will be heading over to the UK this month to shoot her next film, titled Bronte.
MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS (musicians)
Not surprisingly, music inspires the Juggernauts everyday. Not ones to be idle, they’re writing and recording their album, collaborating on a French electro track and doing
remixes for various acts, all in between playing shows.
ANNIE WRIGHT-ZAWADA (designer)
Inspiration is waking up everyday next to her genius husband and little cat, Phatskull. Annie is currently busy designing Insight’s new spring collection, and slowly working on illustrations for a friend’s childrens book.
MISS AB (photographer)
For inspiration AB seeks her cats, friends, and lovers – well anything a little left of centre – and admits to a shallow infatuation for all things of beauty. Besides photography, current projects include being the new ‘Element Eden Advocate’ and heading to other states for her solo exhibition that was first seen January 17 on the Gold Coast.
BEN POLLITT (designer)
Inspired by visions of the future, Ben is currently researching shades of black and grey that are wearable for a Sydney summer to feature in his next collection.
