SWEET DREAMS FOR QUEEN BEES

Issue 27

It’s not just hippies and hard-core activists who are talking about ‘climate change’ and ‘saving the earth’ anymore. Politicians and every day people have finally woken up to the fact that we need to help preserve our environment and not take the Earth we live on for granted. Over the five years since YEN began, the magazine has been full of articles on human and animal rights and saving our environment. Issue 27 sees the YEN team explore this in more depth through words and imagery in a special “Fight for your cause” section. We spoke with many experts on topics such as child soldiers, climate change, homelessness and veganism, We also chatted with Stella McCartney on why she won’t use animal products in her fashion ranges, Gaby Brown of Triple J on embracing an Australian Republic and Will Saunders on painting No War on the Opera House.

Issue 27 also saw renowned French artist, Fafi and uber hot US singer Uffie grace our cover. We had the pleasure of bringing Fafi out to Australia for the CURVY ‘07 tour, so we thought it would be a hit if we got her on our cover. The shoot took place in London back in March of 2007 and the results are gorgeous. These Parisian pals have an electric friendship, which comes across in the head-to-head interview in this issue of YEN. We also had the pleasure of shooting Chrissie Amphlett one of Australia’s most famous rock chicks.

But this was just the tip of the content iceberg.

Enjoy!
