Light up your skin

Pep up your winter make-up look with a dewy addition in the form of an illuminating product. It couldn’t be easier to incorporate an illuminating liquid into your everyday makeup routine.

Here’s how:

1. Cleanse, tone and moisturise as usual.
2. Apply foundation as necessary (less is more!)
3. Apply your blush/bronzing powder or liquid/gel.
3. Take your illuminating product (see below), and sweep down the bridge of the nose, across cheek bones, and on the tip of the chin. The clever liquid-gold will catch the light, making your features look fresh and dewy.

Tip! If you draw a ‘C’ from your eye socket to your cheek with the illuminating liquid, and blend it – you’ll have sheer, gorgeous cheek bones a-la Cate Blanchett.

The great thing about using liquid illuminating products is that they blend into your make-up easily and they won’t cake on top of your foundation. Here are a few of our favourites.

From left: Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector, approx $49. Clinique Up-lighting liquid Illuminator, $48. The Body Shop Radiant Highlighter, $25.95. Mac Strobe Liquid Lotion, $55.
