This month FashiONfilm will premiere Corinne Day Diary, an intimate documentary about the hugely influential photographer who helped launch Kate Moss’s career and ‘heroin chic’. Fashion and photography buffs can get an insight into Day’s process in this doco, shot over 10 years by her boyfriend, filmmaker Mark Szaszy. It features a then 15-year-old Moss shot on black and white super 8 film and traces Day as she abandons magazines in favour of a more raw visual style that approaches reportage.
There will be a bunch of shorts worth checking out too, including two by Dutch fashion photographer Erwin Olaf, a ManiaMania clip by photographer Barnaby Roper featuring Abby Lee, a vision of LA by Aaron Rose and an interview with fashion blogger Diane Pernet and stylist Catherine Baba.
FashiONfilm will take place on Thursday 10 March, 2011 from 8.30pm and Rooftop Cinema, Curtin House, 252 Swanston St Melbourne. Tickets from Moshtix ($20 Adults, $16 Concession). Head to lmmf.com.au for more details.
