Day two began with an off-site show from Yen regulars Twenty-Seven Names and Ingrid Starnes (where the designers very wisely decided to provide coffee and breakfast snacks for the crowd). Ingrid was ladylike, while Twenty-Seven Names appealed to our inner kid with an adorable strawberry print, beanies and jelly sandals with socks.
Afterward we headed over to a decidedly darker tone at The New Generation show, which highlights up-and-coming New Zealand designers. Lots of bandage dresses, slashed hems and a jacket that looked like a punk interpretation of traditional Japanese design.
In the afternoon we went backstage at Riddle Me This, who contrasted a punk aesthetic with super sweet colours and styling. Bright blues and baby pinks mixed with black mesh and tartan print for a feminine take on grunge.
