New math

You probably have seen these floating around cyberland but Mr Craig Damrauer's NEW MATH EQUATIONS are a hoot!
Do you think I'm a murderer?

Woyzeck

I’m not usually one for live theatre. Ever since I saw Nikki Webster don an unbearable Kansas accent playing Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, I’ve avoided it at all costs. But last weekend, with no Strawberry Kisses or airbrushed FHM covers in sight, I returned to the stalls to see Woyzeck. The thought of music and lyrics written by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis and a stage performance by Tim Rogers was too remarkable to pass up. And it was amazing. The music was enchanting, almost like Tim Rogers was channeling Cave and Ellis. The performances were sickeningly stunning and the staging and costumes were ingenious. Although the play was originally written in 1837, this performance transcended all space and time. The story of Woyzeck is frighteningly modern. It’s a story of a soldier who murders his lover, which seems a classic tale, but this production directed by Michael Kantor really defies normality and launches us into a tumbling world of madness, absurdity and disturbing familiarity.
Give me FLAC

FLAC LOGO

When do you finally become an adult? Is it when you commit to using a handbag instead of a backpack? Or when you host dinner parties with multiple courses, serving a nice red instead of passion pop? Maybe it´s the first purchase of something nice to hang on your wall.
For those of you keen to get out of Never Never Land, by picking up a piece of art, head on down to the Blue Hotel in Woolloomooloo this Thursday 16th April for the first FLAC event. These fashion-art-lifestyle-culture extravaganzas duly support young emerging artists as well as fostering creative talent in our city´s less privileged. Some of the money raised from the evening will go towards the Mathew Talbot Homeless Services, creative arts program.
With limited capacity of 300 for the first event, get down there at 6:30pm on the dot. Tickets for the auction are $25 and include drinks, food, product samples (yay!) and the opportunity to pick up a future Damien Hirst. Or at the least, a talking point for your next dinner party.

Hopefully you would have heard of the cup-artiste named Andy Uprock. Well, even if you haven't it's okay, you can become a cuprockin' extraordinaire regardless! Check out his website where you can make your own cup-filled fence art and even send it to friends. Here's one I prepared earlier.
