You can virally market products...and we can virally reject them
Posted 26th Jul 2007 by Miss AMP
Heh - this is totally my favourite bit of the viral internet marketing
explosion. When some marketer tries to harness the internet to push
their product or whatever to "the kidz", and "the kidz" go 'this is
bollocks' and ruthlessly take the piss. So here, right, Mentos decide
they're going to procure an intern and sit
him in front of a webcam and let people interact with him all summer on
chat etc. But instead people just get on there and abuse him - and Mentos - all week for being from Kentucky and thus, by extension, probably a
God-fearing, creation theory believing racist lynch-mobber. Ah, freedom
of speech. Don't you just love it?

100 WORDS EVERY HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE SHOULD KNOW
Posted 24th Jul 2007 by Neha Potalia
The editors of American Heritage dictionaries have compiled a list of 100 words they recommend every high school graduate should know. Making the list were words like ‘irony’, which English teachers spent a week teaching us about, while others are just literally ridiculous- what word means “pyramidal Sumerian temple”. Anyone? Test yourself here
Amber B
Posted 20th Jul 2007 by Claudio K
Kicking off the year with a monster bang Amber B appeared in the 'My2007' group exhibition at Colette
in Paris, followed by a successful
solo exhibition in her home town of the
Gold Coast Australia, before departing for Brooklyn for a solo show at the Arm Gallery in NYC.

Now she is home again and sewing away the winter blues to entertain
her home crowd with a double exhibition in Sydney and Melbourne.
Entitled 'The Dark and Sunny Side of
the Hill' it explores the concept of dualism with a whole new range of amber's hand sewn, one off creatures.
Sydney 27th of July or 10th of August in Melbourne.

Stolen Girlfriend's Club
Posted 20th Jul 2007 by Pebbles Hooper
especially living up to this reputation on Thursday night during the winter months, not the most frivolous night out unless you're up for a dungeon hip-hop night at Code bar. Thankfully for those who attended the new season launch of the STOLEN GIRLFRIENDS CLUB 'Youth Runs Wild' collection - this was far from the case. With champagne served in jam-jars, fabulous people and clothes to look at, and toxic vodka on tap- this was a great night to kick off winter and kick out summer.
Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School
Posted 19th Jul 2007 by Astred Hicks
Ever thought to yourself "Gee whizz, I sure do like life-drawing but gosh-darnit, I want models with more sass!" Well, Dr Sketchy in New York has heard your prayers. Founded in 2005 by artist Molly Crabapple, Dr Sketchy combines lifedrawing with burlesque to create a riotous affair of feathers, charcoal, sequins and paper.
Now a 40-city strong art community you can join in the fun in Sydney, the Gold Coast and Melbourne with some of Australia¹s top burlesque ladies, including Belladonnas de Lux, the Town Bikes, Kira Hula-la, Amelia and Gypsy Wood and Man¹s Ruin.

Sisley Fashioin (sic) Junkies
Posted 18th Jul 2007 by Miss AMP

Wow, this might just be the lamest advert I've ever seen. Is it a spoof? It has to be a spoof. The mis-spelling of fashion (fashioin – like, eh, heroin?); the look on the girl on the right’s face; even the idea that, like, fashion’s so edgy and we’re all soooo addicted to it and – ooh! Drugs! We’re so haemorrhage-edge here at Sisely! Even in 1993 (circa heroin chic) this wouldn’t have been cool. And even if it is a spoof, it’s not funny. Sisely, get to the back of the class, you wieners.
Summer Speedos
Posted 12th Jul 2007 by Faith-Ann Young
In the summer, NYC converts into a mystical blue-skied Valhalla, overflowing with brown-bagged beer, shirtless men, fluttering females, free concerts and the sexy smell of grass mixing with sweat. All is blissful except one flaw: the ubiquitous old, rotund chap in a too tight Speedo in the park. After taking this picture, I told him to check out the boxer section of www.freshpair.com to find new, preferably more conservative ones.
