I don't know about you but when I see a picture of Miranda Kerr, a bileous pool of envy doth rise in my stomach. Not because she calls Orlando Bloom her boyfriend (or not, depending on what the hag-rags have to report this week), or because her legs are about the height of my entire body. No; it's the dimples godammit. I think dimples are simply adorable and ever since I was young have wanted to wear a pair - yet cruelly, the only dimples I'm destined to sport are the ones that will surely begin to appear on my thigh/bum area in the next few years. If only this was the 1930's; then I could simply pick up Miss Isabella Gilbert's dimple machine and create what nature forgot to give me from the privacy of my own home!!!
Curvy Five launch
Posted 4th Apr 2008 by Sigrid Brown
Last night (April 3) saw the launch party for CURVY 5, YEN's annual all-female art book, at the Mori Gallery in Sydney. A growing crowd patiently waited outside the gallery for up to an hour early before the doors opened at 8pm to see the beautiful and eclectic collection of graphic designs and illustrations exhibited by CURVY featured artists. Artists in attendance included Bindi Booth, Kareena Zerefos and Smitten by Stephanie among others.
Guests were treated to music by Chicks on Decks with John the Lad and sipped on beverages from V, Singha beer and Skyy Blue Vodka while scribbling thoughts and graffiti on the 'YEN Room' walls with coloured Sharpie pens. The gallery was packed with artists, art enthusiasts and collectors and if you missed out on purchasing your own copy of CURVY last night, they will soon be available for sale here online. Many artists sold original pieces on the night and several guests purchased Jeremyville Sketchel bags emblazoned with one-off designs by their favourite artists. All in all a fabulous and inspiring evening with some drinks thrown in for good measure. The exhibition will be open at the Mori Gallery (168 Day St, Sydney) until April 5 so go check it out and support young female artistic talent from Australia and overseas.

YEN's fashion director (oh the irony!) fowarded me this; it's her friend Sasha, who is currently in the running to win a 66' Camaro ss.thanks to his stunner of a mullet.  The competition  is called "March  Mullet Madness" and Sasha (who entered in the "Squirrel pelt" bracket) has so far beaten out 64 other follicly tragic hopefulls to make it to the top four but he needs your help to take out the long-backed crown.  Sasha's mum has recently been really sick and if he wins he plans on selling the car and using the money to pay off her medical bills. Really; that's a pretty good reason to be scaring children and repelling the opposite sex with something so perfectly awful. So vote for Sasha! you have until April 5 so Click here!

Ian Usher is. The 44 year old's five year marriage ended last year and - rather than getting a new wardrobe or at least a fringe - ol' Ian is getting a new life. And you can have his old one! Yes, Ian can soon be found on eBay; offering up his not-too-shabby three-bedroom house in the Perth with all it's contents, his car (a 1989 Mazda 929 in gunmetal grey, incase you were wondering) his job at the local rug shop, his legal bills from the divorce.........okay,maybe not that last one. As he explains; "My aim is to walk away at the end of the eBay auction with my wallet in one pocket and my passport in the other, go to the airport and just jump on the first available plane to anywhere." The auction doesn't go live until June but if you can already picture yourself wrapped up in Usher's robe; on the couch watching So You Think You Can Dance, or just grabbing a beer with "Dazz" (yes, friends are included) then head to his website for more info.
It's all gone Pete Tong
Posted 17th Mar 2008 by Katie May Ruscoe

Dear, oh, dear. Another teenage party on hormone-heavy swoll, another home trashed, another - albeit more reluctant - star of the "youth gone wild" media storm du jour. Sarah Ruscoe (nooo relation to myself) of Devon was turning 18 and to celebrate had planned a fancy-dress party for some close friends.... and, you know, the other people who saw one of the many posters she pasted up around the way. Unfortunately one of the would-be revellers contacted BBC1 DJ and shitty house music advocate: Pete Tong, who then announced the "free mansion party" on his show. You can no doubt guess the rest. The owners of the 21 bedroom manor house that bore the (White Lightening-fuelled) brunt of the 2000+ gatecrashers are now planning to sue the BBC - claiming that "It was totally negligent of them to allow a statement like that to be broadcast." And consequently; "(the youths) were acting like animals. I'm surprised no-one was killed." What happened to good old paddock parties?
Five Days in LA-where the sun never stops
Posted 29th Feb 2008 by Millie Ross

The Silent Cinema
 - where at 1am on Saturday night Little Wings played music to movies.
Oscars- caused a lot of traffic as they closed off Hollywood Boulevard and the Good Year Blimp was blimpin across the sunset.  Soft Boiled Eggies- soundtracked many drives (which are what take up most time in this city) Amoeba- got lost in the biggest independent music store I've ever seen, where the cute staff make the shopping experience that much more entertaining.
Family- the coolest store in town barr none, run by Australian's David Kramer and Tahli Harkham. Tonight is 'Thankyou' their one year anniversary exhibition launch featuring Will Oldham (My husband to be, who's priced his photographs- which are pretty weird anyway- at $35,000 each cause he doesnt want to sell them), Joanna Oldham (Will's mum), Shary Boyle and Mike Mills, amongst many others.
Banana cream pie and fries at Astro Family Restaurant at 3am.  Hyperium Bar- where the walls are lined with books and where every tuesday night Australian ex-pat Mindy "Legs" Le Brock hosts Ding a Ling.  Raw Food - an LA craze that had me sceptical but now after sampling the absolutely delicious hickama ravioli filled with shitake mushrooms and white cream miso sauce has me converted to the cult. Last day squeezed in Chateau Marmont for celeb spotting and The Smell- for all ages punk rock bopping.
