See you in my dreams

Ethereal Australian label Cohen Et Sabine recently teamed up with POD Films to create the beautiful piece of film you see above. Titled "She knows not what she is" the video was created by Maia Horniak as a journey into every girl's imagination and a study of lush fabrics and fairytale aesthetic of Cohen et Sabine's Spring/ Summer 08 range. As the film's producer explains: "We wanted to draw the viewer into a fantasy world; into a dream sequence where they could suspend their sense of reality. To do this we needed to make the visuals so deep and layered that it became almost a textural experience not just a visual one”. Go ahead and get lost!

Zooey Deschanel plays in the woods, looks cute

While, truth be told, not a design revolutionary, New York designer Erin Fetherston does have a knack for making very pretty, whimsical clothes and marketing them in very pretty, whimsical ways. Back in 2006 she teamed up with film-maker Ellen Von Unwerth to create "Wendybird', a short film that showed Kirsten Dunst cavorting in the park and playing dress-ups with Fetherston's wears. For her autumn/winter 2008 collection Fetherston has once again teamed up with Von Unwerth; this time employing the perenially saucer-eyed and oh-so-cute zooey Deschanel to cavort through the park in her clothes. Really though, "Dreamy Wander" is very cool. check it out above.

LV loves Comme D.G

Man, Tokyo gets all the cool stuff! This September, copyright mad luxury house Louis Vuitton is teaming up with the ever freaky Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons to create a pop-up store in the Japanese capital. The collaboration between the fashion's first name in chic and first name in rebellion is in celebration of thirty years of Louis Vuitton operating in Tokyo. The pop-up shop will be open for three months and will only be stocking six one-off (and I'm sure ferociously covetable) bags designed by Kawakubo and bearing, you guessed it, that well protected LV monogram.

Ed Banger "lifestyle brand" Justice has collaborated with international design collective Surface2Air to create an exclusive line of denim 'n' leathers. Inspired by the uniform typically worn by Jus-teece's Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay the range includes a couple of sexy leather jackets - in biker or bomber styles - and jeans best suited the club-going man of lithe build. Each piece also bears the signature "Justice Cross" and red detailing on hardware and pockets. Perpetually dangling cigarette is optional. You can view the range here. In Sydney Surface2Air is stocked in Incu stores so hopefully we'll see some of the Justice range in store in time for the festival season.
Thoughtful Threads

If the infrequent and half-hearted polish of your worn leather satchel is the most animal friendly you get when it comes to fashion, then perhaps it's time to take a look at some more eco-friendly garments. Too long has the rather unfortunate image of a hippie in a hessian sack reigned supreme in this category - these days its a whole lot easier to keep your quirk and simultaneously maintain our lovely planet. Skin and Threads is an innovative Australian brand that utilizes organic, natural fabrics to create distinctive basics. The versatile pieces provide clean, crisp silhouettes ready to be molded to your every whim. Check them out and do good ol' Captain Planet proud.
