Injury is the fashion soundtrack to an enigmatic horror movie. Based in Sydney since 2004, its complex imagery, inspired by grotesque themes makes simple staple items into abstract artworks. Their SS0910 collection encompasses everything from worm and twisted hair prints to more gentle yet equally compelling notions of the moon and jellyfish. The monochrome palate, uneven draping and extreme batwing shapes further enhance the macabre mood of the collection.
The designer Eugene Leung comes from a background in architecture and street graffiti art so it is no surprise he has managed to balance both the graphic and sculptural elements of the label so well. Injury has developed a look that is as individual as the concept behind the brand, inviting us to explore the things that disgust and repel us and embrace them on a whole different level.
Injury’s moody array of aesthetics are darkly intriguing, it is like wearing a subdued Haloween costume everyday and horror, as a form of expression has certainly never looked so good.

British fashionista Katie was blaming boyfriend Joe for not being romantic enough with her. To erase this outrageous accusation, he created a website dedicated to her and her true sense of style with daily post of her outfit du jour, Whatkatiewore.com.The concept is straightforward as Joe puts it " Joes writes the blog. Katie wears the clothes", the challenge being for Katie not to wear a look twice. Not even a year after it starts, it's a big hit.
Katie's style is obviously full of whims and quirks, sometimes a bit over the top. ( I may be a bit of a fashion prude here.)
One more street style fashion blog, i can hear your painful sigh from here. True. But we couldn't left unnoticed Joe's conspicuous effort to make up the new ultimate form of love letter.

An Ode to No one’s
AW10 collection is not your traditional take on winter dressing with draped
dresses and skirts making up the statement items of the collection. It is
paired down elegance with a twist, literally, from knotted v-necks to draped
hemlines and fluted and knife pleats. Brilliant warming reds and an intricate
graphic diamond print splice up the blacks and whites but the real clincher is
the navy infusion, which makes for a refreshing change from the usual grey of
winter. The Edwardian collars, that adorn several pieces in the collection are
also a standout feature, framing our faces in detail. The collection
successfully merges sculptural detail with soft draping to create an array of
winter wardrobe staples. Standout numbers are all the Edwardian collared
numbers from the dresses to the tops, especially the mini dresses and a cropped
black jacket with layers of lapels. An Ode to No One may be a young label but their garments seem
to have their own unique sense of timeless style already.

Melbourne label Neo Tokyo launches fashion with a conscience for the World Society for the Protection of Animals
Melbourne label Neo Tokyo launches its new website today, featuring fashion with a conscience to raise awareness and funds for the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA).

The launch of the website http://www.neotokyo.com.au with a key item, the Kujira Market Bag, which was designed by top Melbourne based fashion designer Jemma Browne and assisted by graphic designer Matthew Carmody, Russell Athletic Art Director. The Kujira Market Bag, Kujira meaning ‘whale’ in Japanese. The bag is made from gunmetal canvas and has a clean, delicate whale design printed on cotton lining. The metallic PU(poly urethane) handles are attached with gunmetal rings. It also features an inside zipped pocket and mobile phone pouch. Size 42cm(L)x 14.5cm(W) x 30.5cm(H). The Kujira bag is made from 100% man made materials.
For each bag purchased, Neo Tokyo will give $20 to WSPA to support its anti-whaling campaign. The campaign argues that there is no humane way to kill a whale at sea. Every whale that is hunted and killed is forced to endure excruciating pain and terror.
Louise Fitzsimons, Communications Manager for WSPA Australia, explains: “The methods used in whaling are cruel, outdated and completely contradictory to current international guidelines for the humane slaughter of animals. The money raised by Neo Tokyo through the sale of the Kujira Market Bag will help WSPA continue our fight to protect whales all over the world.â€
In addition to the Kujira Market Bag, 20% of the purchase price of all items available from the website http://www.neotokyo.com.au be given directly to WSPA.
Helen O’Connor from Neo Tokyo adds: “Since we were established in 1997, Neo Tokyo has always had a strong commitment to animal welfare. The launch of the new website begins a new era of our commitment to ending the cruelty and injustice inflicted upon animals all over the world.
“We are looking forward to supporting WSPA on many future campaigns, while leading the development of the latest animal friendly fashion trends.â€
