Popsicle!! Not the delicious Icy treat but the new fashion store thats "popped up" (hehe) in WA. The first of it's kind in Perth, Popsicle is the brainchild of WA's William Street Collective and is the kind of pop-up store made famous by London's Dover Street Markets and Manhattan boutique, Den. A group of local interior designers have transformed a formerly abandoned building, which for eleven days will house the latest collections from the State's most exciting young designers - including Dapple-Grey, Ignite Gear and Joveeba. Supported by the City of Perth, Department of Culture and the Arts and the East Perth Redevelopment Authority, Popsicle has been especially created for the Perth Fashion Festival and is running from September 4 - 14. Find it at 214 William Street Northbridge.

Australian resin masters, Dinosaur Designs are about to kick off a huuuuuge sale. Huge, like a dinosaur. Expect to see reductions all sorts of jewellery, accessories and home-wares as well as bargains on discontinued ranges, seconds and samples. The sale kicks off on Thursday September 11 and runs until Sunday (10am - 4pm). I reckon get in early for the best stuff though - let us not forget that Christmas is only three months away people!! The DD sale can be found at 585 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills.
It's pretty much impossible to own too much jewellery - in fact, I believe it's actually been proven.
Scientifically. Google it. I should point out a this stage that Renee Garabedian happens to make really good jewellery. Operating out of Western Australia under the brand name Cocoa Pod, Renee creates intricate, nature inspired pieces out of all sorts of pretty things like freshwater pearls, wood, vintage beads, gems and Swarovski crystals. My current fave is the vintage brass and pearl heart you see here. Quite fittingly, Cocoa Pod's first online store opened on the first day of spring (i.e the most florid and sweet-smelling day of the year) and to celebrate, Renee is offering free shipping on all purchases. Nice Eh? The promotion runs until October 6 so get clicking and don't forget to quote 0b6ship at the checkout.

August was definitely a very chilly month, the coldest in 64 years to be exact! But the weather is definitely getting warmer - we're already donning the fake bake and flashing a little bit of extra flesh in preparation for the silly season. And the sudden explosion of colour can only mean one thing - summer is on its way! David Jones has chosen to celebrate the joyous arrival of Spring with a bright new theme to kick of the new season's collections. The Carnival of Colour officially kicked off yesterday, with a glorious display of Brazilian inspired exquisite foliage. The Elizabeth Street store will feature over 450'000 individual blooms, including 8'000 stems of bamboo, 6'000 orchids, 40 rare and terrifying meat eating Pitcher Plants, a 40-year-old Aloe Vera plant, pink and white oriental lilies and a variety of exotic birds. Complimentary tours can be secured by calling (02) 9266 5184. Bookings are essential.
I heard (via Sunrise) that mortgage interest rates were set to drop today by, like, a quarter of a point. I'm not a home owner so I don't really know what this means but I hear it's a good thing - but I think a good thing in a way that losing a fifty dollar note but then finding a tenner behind the couch the next day is a good thing; an
"mmmm" good thing but not "woohoo" good thing ya'know? What
is a "woohoo" good thing though is that Incu are having another of their gargantuan garage sales this weekend. Head down from this Friday to find cheap-as-chips Karen Walker, APC, Acne, Corpus, Wood Wood, Fillipa K, surface to Air and heaps of other good shit. The incu garage sale is on from 9.am to 6.pm this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 276 Devonshire Street, Surry Hills. Kochie would be proud, Melissa Doyle would remain effervescent and homely.
Dear Mr. Spongebob Squarepants,
I have recently discovered your endorsement and co-collaboration of a new range of nail polishes by American nail spa, Rescue Beauty Lounge. Whilst I am pleased to see a career change from flipping crabby patties, I do ponder the reasons for your venture into the beauty industry. Correct me if I am wrong, but not once throughout your escapades in the idyllic underwater location of Bikini Bottoms have I noticed you sporting "Starfish Patrick" (a soft apricot hue), or the desire to obtain a pedicure. My observations and long-term devotion to your partnership with Nickelodeon lead me to believe that perhaps you do not care about the up-keep and pampering of a woman's feet, and maybe, just maybe, you seem to have slapped your name on a bottle of nail polish and walked off with an attractive sum with your adoring fans none the wiser of your phoney brand association. I sense a lack of real enthusiasm for your latest financial venture, so shame on you and your square pants!
