So, everyone in your office is checking their Myspace every five minutes - refresh refresh - attempting to down-play their self-esteem issues by clicking ‘accept’ on everyone who asks to be their friend, porn queen to death metal god.
Why not use your Internet networking platform for the good of man and, instead of requesting those with the hippest pic, whitest smile or latest TK dress, make an effort to pull these sites into your cyber social circle?

To fly or not to fly
Posted 2nd Jul 2007 by Rachel Hills
It’s a tricky conundrum: overseas travel can open your eyes to our big wide world… but it also contributes to its destruction. Air travel contributes more to global warming than anything else — the food you eat, the car you do or don’t drive, the electricity you use. The good news is that carbon offset groups such as Climate Friendly and Greenfleet allow you to offset your flights for as little as $5 (for a Sydney to Melbourne flight). But such offsets are optional, and don’t change the reality of the tonnes (literally) of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere every time you board that plane. So, what’s the solution? Carbon tax on flying? Fewer flights and longer holidays (the fun option)? Staying home? Let us know what you think.
Whadda u mean? Canberra is unreal Keating!

I didn’t peg Paul Keating for my saviour but his latest call to move Parliament House to Sydney certainly puts him in the running. The Kster considers there to be an ‘air of unreality about Canberra’, indeed in a city where nite clubs and Soviet style public service buildings become one and the streets are as empty as the backroads of Siberia by 10pm on a Friday you gots to give Pauly K. cred for trying to get the pollies up to his Potts Point crib for some serious ravey chow down fun times. UNREAL!
Whose Water Is That?
Posted 31st May 2007 by Rosie Walker

Bravo to Italy for pulling their funds out of the World Bank's water privatisation programme on the grounds that giving ownership of water – yes, the stuff every human being needs for basic survival – to profit-making companies is a bit barmy. Residents of poverty stricken Soweto, Johannesburg are taking their city authorities to court this month as they’ve decided they’d like to be able to flush their toilet without having to sacrifice the weekly food budget. Pre-paid water meters were forced on the city’s homes in January, meaning the poor can no longer afford to wash their hands – a marvellous predicament for a country already staggering under the weight of serious health problems.
