Creepiest music video EVER
Posted 4th Apr 2008 by Katie May Ruscoe

But probably the most face-meltingly amazing music video EVER as well. It's the clip for Bjork's new single, Wanderlust and there really isn't much I can say about it aside from that Spike Jones made it and it almost seems to be a little taster of what we can expect from Where the Wild Things are. You can view it here.

Oh Carrie and your merry  gang of wildly unrealistically portrayed femmes. How I love thee. Here is the final, complete (to the point where it almost gives the story away)  trailer for the Sex and The City movie. Get ready for another high street surge of corsages, name-plate necklaces and cosmopolitans; the film is due in our cinemas mid-year.
You’re green, you’re clay, you’re a cosmic display...

Gumby: The MovieGumby is the kind of childhood obsession that makes you feel sorry for the kids of today and all their Dora the Explorer dolls, Hannah Montana concerts and GHB-laced Bindeez. That’s why these school holidays you should take it upon yourself to drag as many kids as you can away from their Yu-Gi-Oh cards and Pixel Chix down to ACMI where “Gumby: The Movie” is showing. “But my kids won’t watch anything that isn’t made using CGI graphics let alone claymation…” I hear you say in disgust. WRONG. Gumby is timeless. And your kids WILL like it. I mean he is in a band called The Clayboys, has two groupies called Tara and Ginger and can mould into any shape that he wants to! Awesome. Dora is no green, clay, cosmic display that’s for sure.

School for scandal

I'm so excited to see St Trinians! Based on the work of reclusive cartoonist Ronald Searle, the upcoming film is the sixth in a series of Trinian movies that have been released since 1954. The plot revolves around the fictional St Trinians; an alternitive girl's school that's home to some of the most anarchic and uncontrolable young women in the U.K. Upon discovering that their school is facing closure at the hands of the banks and and the educational minister, the St Trinians girls (who operate in segregational cliques such as "Posh totty", "Chavs", "Emos", "Geeks" and "First years") use their vivacity, wit and light-fingers to get the school back on track. The cast list appears to have been sourced from one of Kate Moss's birthday parties or a booth at The Hawley Arms - with comedian Russell Brand, model Lily Cole and saucy pop group; Girls Aloud, clocking up time in home-room with Colin Firth, Rupert Everett, Mischa Barton and impossibly hip newcomer; Gemma Arterton (who - fresh out of drama school - beat out Sienna Miller for the role of rebellious head girl, Kelly). St Trinians is due out here from March 27.
Old Man Oscar
Posted 25th Feb 2008 by Katie May Ruscoe
As I write this, Hollywood's A-list (and Lisa Rinna) are sashaying along the long red carpet; stopping for the assorted media and bleacher creatures on their way up to the Kodak Theatre for 80th Annual Academy awards, AKA, The Oscars. Bloggers and media outlets alike are currently in a live-feed frenzy as each member of the glitterati arrives; placing last-minute bets on both the award and- the equally important- fashion stakes. This years "it" colour is so far looking to be red; a bold choice of hue that some, more surmisive, people could attribute to the triumph of this particular year's event. This is of course the Oscars ceremony that, due to the recent writers strike, very nearly didn't happen. But it has and so this evening I shall be on the couch, resplendent in my most glamorous pyjamas, with a glass of wine in hand and my celebrity-sullied eyes glued to the glittery world of Mr Oscar.
Chanel On Film
Posted 22nd Feb 2008 by emily Naismith
If the closest you have ever got to real Chanel is stealing sprays of No. 5 or Coco Mademoiselle from the tester bottles as you walk through the cosmetics section of Myer then you can stop dreaming now! Melbourne’s ACMI cinemas have put on a special program that focuses on the legend behind Chanel, one of the world’s most famous couture fashion houses. Three different films will be screened from Saturday 23rd February to Monday 3rd March as part of the 2008 L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. You might have to stop off at Myer on the way just so you smell the part.
Annual Agent Cooper Day
Posted 20th Feb 2008 by Katie May Ruscoe
This afternoon YEN's editor, Kristy, recieved a package - not at all that unusual, she gets a few of those. However this one happened to contain both the full box-set of Twin Peaks and a copy of it's movie prequal, Fire Walk With Me. I cannot hide my jealousy. A couple of days ago my flatmate introduced the house to David Lynch's tele-visual masterpiece and we've been living in a most short-tempered and edgy abode since - everyone fighting and scheming over who gets two watch disc three next, getting jumpy at the mere notion that someone should spoil episode five's cliff-hanger. We are simply that obsessed. For those who haven't seen it; google it, whoah is it F*****d up. February 24 is the day that The 'peaks fictional highschool sweetheart Laura Palmer is found dead - thus forming the elaborate plot of the series - so guess what I, my housemates and Kristy shall be doing come Sunday? Not seeing sunlight, thats for sure. We have a date with the DVD player.
