When Mitchell looks through the camera lens he steps away from the norm and captures images of a surreal and unique nature. What’s on the other side is an insight into the mind of someone who has the ability to think and see beyond the everyday mundane. An eye for bringing inanimate objects to life and transporting us into a realm where perhaps we are not always alone. Do you ever get the feeling someone is watching…….? A musician that creates beautiful simple lyrics and says all the things you think a man has wanted to say but has never had the courage… With easy folk, county, blues melodies that just make you smile. His voice at times verges on shrill but this just adds to his unique charm, his falsetto his amazing. It’s a modern day Bob Dylan who is truly a hopeless romantic.
Pete Molinari has recently been recording with one of the UKs most well respected musicians, artists, poets, Billy Childish. He sang a song the other night in London, one written by Billy the lyrics as such ‘I can’t love you, because I don’t like the man that I am’. An incredibly simple and beautiful track, I haven’t heard such a song or been excited by one in such a long time. A second album is on it’s way, go listen to ‘sweet louise’ now….. petemolinari.co.uk

Three individuals make up the group known as 'The Bogside Artists'. The group is famous for their murals in the area of Derry, Northern Ireland, known as Free Derry Corner. These murals depict key events of 'the Troubles' in the city since 1968. The artists have lived in the Bogside most of their lives and have experienced the worst of the conflict. This exhibition of their work is a chronicle of those events that they consider to have been the most significant during the last thirty years. In telling this story they have served a pressing need for their community and Derry people in general to acknowledge with dignity if not pride the price paid by those who became victims of the struggle for democratic rights. Their work therefore is essentially a homage.
Visiting this site referred to as 'The Peoples Gallery 'was a sound reminder that not all is always peaceful in civilised society.
You can read more on these artists and the conflict in Northern Ireland.

This photo shoot by Ellis Parrinder was shot in London for Attitude Magazine and I was struck by this amazing transformation of a ‘once famous’ pop icon. Who Would Have Thought that Darren Hayes the front man of Savage Garden would end up the intriguing and stylish man we see here. I think everyone should admit to liking at least one Savage Garden song.. (Mine was ‘To The moon & Back’.. what can I say I can appreciate a good pop song). Darren has since the Savage Garden days come out as a gay man and is married to his uber talented partner Richard Cullen. Together they are a creative force to look out for.
Richard, a film director, editor, producer and animator created Darren’s music videos ‘Who Would Of Thought’, 'Words'and ‘Me Myself & I’. You can view the clips, some of the animation and special effects here Re-invention is a tricky word, it can also be dangerous, but looking at Darren in this shoot, I’m drawn in and I want to know more….. Who Would Have Thought.?...

Lisa Lindley-Jones, such a small name for such a big sound. Lisa is joined in her music by 5 other band members, all of which bring their unique sound to the stage. Piano, guitar, bass, drums, accordion and even a metal saw played with a violin bow come together with Lisa’s haunting vocals to take you on a mystical journey. It's stripped back folk to percussion led indie rock that draws similairites to The Cardigans, Roisin Murphy and Rilo Kiley. Have a listen at her myspace page.Filed under: Art
Tattoo artists from all over the world travelled to London for a 3 day Tattoo convention. I’m not sure if convention is the right word as the incredibly talented people seen here are far from conventional. The wide range of artistry translated onto the human form is nothing short of remarkable. Anyone who perceives tattoos as a ‘fad’ is very much mistaken. Paying tribute to tattoo art tradition, from Polynesia through to The Royal Navy, my personal favourites were:
Corazon Tattoo Jacqueline from Luzern in Switzerland is most well known for her Tribal tattooing. She is one of very few given permission by New Zealand elders to do this, and in every tribal tattoo of hers is a special symbol given to her by elders that represents the hills in Switzerland.
Frith Street Tattoo A fairly new parlour in London that does a lot of Mexican and traditional inspired pieces including Roses and Mexican day of the dead skulls.
