Aussie folk duo Angus and Julia Stone release their sophomore record today 'Down The Way'. The record is a journey, a travel journal of sorts, one that saw them record in all corners of the globe, from Golant in the UK at a studio you could only access by boat to Brooklyn, Queens, London and Coolangatta.. This travelling charm and sense of  being on the road is translated into rich harmonies with folk based tales and orchestral overtones. The pair are set to kick off an Australian wide tour next week...

Townes Van Zandt country-folk musician, singer-songwriter, performer and poet..... This is an extract of Heartworn Highway from 1975, the song "Waitin' Around To Die" from "For the Sake of the Song" album... Dark and beautiful and bursting at the seams with real sorrow...

I first saw this band in London a couple of years back and was immediately struck by Petter Ericson Stakee's unique vocals. Since then Alberta Cross have moved into a heavier sound, just as beautiful but definitely with a bit more gusto. Stakee's vocals will drive you into the ground and in the same breath send you floating all the way to to cloud 9..

Even more in love (if that's possible...) after seeing The Middle East play yesterday. Gorgeous melancholic tones that are still joyous and uplifting. Stunning.

The new video for 'VCR' from the London group 'The XX'. The group recently became a 3 piece after their keyboardist left in November last year citing exhaustion. However the band have continued with their world wide show dates in support of their debut album 'xx' and they are another international act gracing our shores for the Laneway Festivals.. Loving the new video..!
