The Work of a Barber

These days photographs and nightlife usually end up with "THIS IS SO GOING ON MY
MYSPACE!". But from the work of fashion and party photographer Mark Barber, the photos
really speak for themselves - and you can trust with his signature fish-eye lense that a
'bad night' will look like an amazing one. With his new website up and running displaying commissioned work from prominent hip-hop artists such as Louie Knuxx, Dj CXL and Vice magazine, Mark Barber can be held accountable for Auckland's nightlife looking good.
Hope for Fashion

Many people judge the fashion industry to be about as deep as a puddle - but last night the Hope Foundation threw a fashion show with a group of local designers of including Mala Brajkovic, Zambesi, Des Rusk, Nyne Olga and Juliette Hogan - all to raise money for children suffering with Aids in Africa.
The backstage looked as if a blind bull had torn through it, but thankfully it pulled
through all for a good cause.
Auckland band The Electric Confectionaries wrapped up the event (pictured)- and although the irony of the fashion industry and Africa was all too clear - it was a well worth effort.
Gwen in Auckland

Possibly the biggest pop star who could easily be mistaken for an aerobics instructor
graced the city of Auckland last night for her one-night-only tour. Gwen Stefani pumped the Vector Arena full of 'Harajuku' madness, busting moves to motivate any over thirty-five year old to take out life time gym memberships. Her first NZ tour since 1996 with No Doubt - and she's come back better than ever!
Stolen Girlfriend's Club

Auckland does not have a reputation as a city with the most happening nightlife -
especially living up to this reputation on Thursday night during the winter months, not the most frivolous night out unless you're up for a dungeon hip-hop night at Code bar. Thankfully for those who attended the new season launch of the STOLEN GIRLFRIENDS CLUB 'Youth Runs Wild' collection - this was far from the case. With champagne served in jam-jars, fabulous people and clothes to look at, and toxic vodka on tap- this was a great night to kick off winter and kick out summer.
Paris Fashion Bubble

From one fashion week to another, the city of Paris is currently consumed with couture as designers worldwide flock to display their creations amongst glittering fashion shows or at the yearly trade event Tranoi.
My father has just arrived in Paris via London. With the recent news of the Glasgow airport disaster I called him frantically to find out if he and his menswear designer Benny were alright. His response was far from expectant-“yes...why?”
The thought that neither of them knew what had happened did not cross my mind, until I realised they had no clue that the city they were heading back to had “HAZARD” labelled all over it.
I’ve now realised that nothing can break the event that is Paris’ fashion trade. Not even a terrorist attack on their neighbours.
Unless the terrorists are wearing Alaia couture - the Parisians will not flinch.
