YEN Presents - ABSOLUT 15 Sydney
ABSOLUT 15 is a competition that sees entrants slugging it out with their favourite track list in a bid to get the crowd moving in a 15 minute set - whoever gets the biggest and best crowd response takes top honors. The overall winner scores $1000, which is donated to their charity of choice, a case of ABSOLUT vodka and a wardrobe from Australian label, Another Boy.
Melbourne’s ABSOLUT 15 took place on Friday, May 30 and was a bangin' night; with over 400 locals joining in the fun and frivolity. DJ’s including MuGen, Manchild, Damn Arms and Nick Foley, who spun their stuff to a very enthusiastic audience. With the first ever ‘tie’, Generik and Jimmy BBQ were crowned equal winners, with their charities – Movember and Bowel Cancer & Digestive Research Institute of Australia - receiving a very welcome donation.
ABSOLUT is giving one music-loving YEN reader the opportunity to battle it out alongside a bevy of Sydney’s finest DJ’s at the last tour dates on Thursday October 16 at the Oxford Arts Factory Sydney.
To be in the running all you need to do is email YEN your back-to-back 15 minute playlist, along with your full contact details. Your entry will be considered by the ABSOLUT 15 judging panel - and if you make the cut you win a spot to play in Sydney, as well as a slew of goodies - see below.
The event promises to be huge; not only will YEN's resident fashion maven, Imogene Barron, be hitting the DJ booth but some of our favourite CURVY artists will also be beautifying the walls of new venue, Nevermind.
