Chrissie Miller’s Winter Playlist

By Anne Fullerton | 29 April 2011

Between channelling her hip, downtown aesthetic into fashion label, Sophomore, and channelling her hip, downtown friends into Sophomore’s look books, designer Chrissie Miller was kind enough to tell us about her winter style staples and compile a playlist. Given the chill and horizontal rain we’ve been experiencing of late (and the fact that our Winter Fashion issue is mere days away from being released into the wild! May 4, that’s next Wednesday!) we asked her to make it one for a rainy day. “It’s raining here right now so I like to listen to depressing music and get into it!” she said. Sounds like sage advice. Here’s her list of songs to jam to as you lounge indoors drinking with your ridiculously attractive amigos or longingly trawl Sophomore’s online boutique.

Who are you thinking of when you design?
I think about what I am missing in my closet and what I think “the kids” want to wear for that season. It’s just something in the air.

Who did you want to be when you were growing up?
Cherie Currie… or at least have her hair!

It’s getting chilly in Australia, what is your winter staple?
I have been wearing this vintage Mexican baja sweater. VERY WARM!

What’s on your rainy day playlist?

1. Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol

2. Nude – Radiohead

3. What I Have Left – Mike Bones

4. He Hit Me – Grizzly Bear

5. Clear Skies – The Strokes
