We asked our favourite designers to tell us about their muse. Here’s what Carly Hunter had to say…
Jessyca Hutchens is a writer musician, illustrator, and law student (in no particular order). I used one of her illustrations as a print design for the SS10 ‘Apollo’ collection and her jewellery made from human hair will grace the runway with the ‘XI’ collection at LMFF. Traianos Pakioufakis is one of the best photographers I know and runs experimental music label Meupe Records. He has shot all of my collections and we recently worked together on a concept shoot in locations around WA. Sooty is their 11-month-old Pomeranian puppy. I first met Jess and Traianos at the Lancelin sand dunes. We were all lost and as we made our way out of the abyss we bonded over our love of karaoke, hatred of colour and appreciation for the work of Vincent Gallo. Since this encounter the two have constantly inspired me with their personal ideas of design beauty and art. We can also read each others’ minds.
