The brainchild of Kelly Barriball, Gran’s Loose Change is your one click stop for pre-loved and vintage clothing. We asked the NZ based wheeler and dealer to tell us how to work your dream job alongside your day job.
By day I… am an account manager for v.marketing where I strategise, budget, conceptualise, write, edit, manage and coordinate marketing, advertising, PR, web and events. Although I also blog, write and dream for Gran’s Loose Change.
By night I… blog, measure, photograph, edit, upload, coordinate, package, courier and manage Gran’s Loose Change.
This involves… being incredibly good at time management, surviving on little sleep and getting used to not having a lot of free time.
I was inspired to start Gran’s Loose Change because… I have long had a passion for vintage clothing, owning my own business, being bossy and in charge and creating something that services the people.
If I had one piece of advice for starting an online business it would be… do your research, be committed, dedicated and prepared to make it happen. And don’t give up. Dream it, feel it and live it.
My favourite labels are… they’re not necessarily online but I do love New Zealand’s Twenty-Seven Names and Aussie’s Shakuhachi and Sass & Bide. I like to mix and match designer with unique and one off vintage finds.
