Gorman x Atelier Bingo Summer 2016 Collaboration
A match made in abstract heaven, Gorman’s summer 2016 collaboration transforms Atelier Bingo’s works into wearable pieces of art. The French duo behind the brand, Maxime Prou and Adèle Favreau, met while studying at art school. After a stint working in Paris, they decided change was in the air and they packed their bags for an old factory in Saint-Laurent-Sur-Sèvre. “My uncle renovated the building, and when he showed it to us we fell completely in love. We decided to move away from Paris very quickly, so we could have a better life and more space,” says Prou. “Here it’s easier for us to focus and do what we really want to. We love waking up in the morning, drinking a coffee, and watching the horses run past.”
Fans of collaborating, the pair make beautiful collages and artworks that have found their way onto lots of different mediums: textiles, stationery, decorations and now a Gorman collection. All the prints in the range come from their original artworks and have been matched with a mix of new and classic Gorman cuts. You can get a peek into their studio thanks to the campaign imagery, which was all photographed on location at Atelier Bingo’s studio in Saint-Laurent-Sur-Sèvre, France, and find out a bit more about Atelier Bingo by reading Yen’s meet and greet with them.
The Atelier Bingo x Gorman collection will start dropping into stores in November but you can pre-order a selection of designs at gormanshop.com.au from Wednesday October 26.
