Kate Jenkins’ Crochet Foods
Fibre artist Kate Jenkins does some things with wool we didn’t know were possible, turning flat bits of fibre into three-dimensional plates of food that we really, really want to touch with our hands (rude!). They also leave you cursing yourself for never quite getting the hang of knitting — it’s just too hard, damn it! Knit one purl what? Please don’t make me go to a Stitch ‘n’ Bitch! Anything but that!
We especially love the sequinned sardines and woolly durries, even though tinned fish gross and smoking is a filthy habit that kills you dead. That’s how charming these little yarny wonders are. If you need us we’ll be practising crochet in the corner and probably not doing a very good job.
