We all know who Krystal is. We can't walk into a newsagent without copping a flash of her surgically enhanced assets protruding off the front cover of a particular magazine and straight into our faces. For me and many other women, this image does nothing but:
1. Make us gag a little
2. Re-affirm that this is far from beautiful.
For men and young boys though, I assume they would experience the exact opposite reaction. These images in no way help a young girls view of what encompasses real beauty. It also, in no way gives young males a true perception of beauty and what is deemed attractive or pretty. This only sets them a standard - a very high standard at that.
What hope do girls have of ever pleasing a man when they have been constantly fed images of false beauty? Well, there is hope and a lot of it, but I guess it's just a point.
Tonight at 6.30pm on A Current Affair Krystal will be pleading her case against the only thing that made her famous. I guess we will hear her whinge about how she didn't mean to be a 'bad influence for young girls', but then again who will believe her? I sure don't see any hands raised.
