Our lady (and man) of the flowers
Posted 2nd May 2008 by Katie May Ruscoe
At least the new subversive craze to hit Europe smells better than aerosol and looks nicer than a sloppy, illegible tag. On the back of 'guerilla knitting' and 'urban exploring' comes guerilla gardening; a practice that see's flora lovers take to the streets by torchlight and plant lavender and French daisies where a grey urban wasteland once lay. The video above is a story the BBC recently did on the movement. Wonder if it will catch on here? I can certainly think of some city pockets that need a bit of flash-beautifying!
