Say Bonjour To G.KERO’s Latest Collection

When someone says ‘French style’ it’s hard to stifle visions of a young Parisian girl whizzing past the Champs-Élysées on her vintage bicycle, adorned in a black and white striped tee with a red beret to match. You just know that whicker basket is smuggling a wheel of camembert and a fresh-baked baguette. Well, the chic French brand G.KERO is proof instead that Parisian style is an easy, breezy colourful affair with its AW16/17 collection focusing on fun, bold designs brought to life by actress Charlotte Le Bon.
Le Bon’s charismatic charm embodies everything these pieces are meant to be, whether she’s dangling her legs from an amusement park ride, cheekily grabbing the tooshie of an unsuspecting statue or cuddling up to an Irish Setter in the park. Captured by photographer Alice Moitié, Le Bon turns Paris into her own personal playground.
Earlier this year, we spoke to one half of G.Kero’s brother-sister duo Philippe Bartherotte, who told us it all began when he put one of his sister Marguerite’s paintings onto a shirt. “While I was in Rio de Janeiro, a city where everyone wears T-shirts, I realised there wasn’t anything cute in the shops. Just plain surfers’ stuff, or hard metal iconography. I asked my sister to do a drawing and had it silk screened on a T-shirt.”
Summer may be creeping up on us at an alarming rate but with a little determination and some willful ignorance, you can sport G.Kero’s bomber jackets, shirts and long sleeve tees all year long.
